Easter LONG weekend

Standard

When I say long, I mean, it felt like 10 days, but it was only four. I could be cashing in on the last bit of long-weekend sleep but my body is saying, Nope! You have napped too much for today!

My poodle buns is fast asleep and dreaming- I can tell with all the twitching going on!

We have had what feels like endless hours to chat and cuddle and romance this weekend, all whilst she has been doing some work, and my discovery and (binge) watching “pretty little liars”- I am hooked! We even went over to my parents for an Easter lunch, which was uneventful. Except for this one part which basically rendered me sweaty and what felt like bright red- basically a misunderstanding that was thought as sexual and my parents (read: aunt and uncle who raised me) and I never talk about that stuff (especially since I think they have no clue about girl/girl sexy) and so I died, and I think they might have too!

I made some chocolate eclairs and they were all eaten up super fast.

Chocolate has reached a new level- I even thought I smelled it coming from mrs’ pores. We have two Lindt bunnies left, but we’ll put those away for when we really feel we need them.

I feel super relaxed, and I feel as though we have had an awesome weekend. I feel that the universe has owed me these endless hours, and oh, thank you!!

Ps. We are looking after a cat for a while, hence cat photos all over Instagram. Her name is shadow and I put a whole pile of Lindt bunny bells on her. Now at 1am, I can hear her exploring and bouncing around. Mrs poodle is struggling with some allergies, but that box of allergex is doing the job! It has been super sweet hearing Sheree calling the cat and talking to it, and petting it, since we’ve never had to really look after an animal together before.

Green macarons!

Standard

This is the second time I have made macarons. The French kind. I adapted the first recipe I used slightly. I decided to make them green and filled them with red velvet chocolate and honey buttercream. They were delicious and perfect and I made so many! Also… This time they weren’t as sweet but still so delicious and flavorful! Take a look!

Chocolate tasting in Franschoek

Standard

As you know, we went away to Franschoek this past weekend. We happened across the place where they made hand-crafted Belgian chocolates and couldn’t resist a taste or 47… so we bought one of each of the choccies on display and we were going to do our own tasting and opinions in our own time! Sheree and I both gave our own comments which you can see below! These chocolates come from Huguenot Fine Chocolates
